The pupils at Lynnwood Ridge Primary School once again got to work and came up with some very exciting projects for the 2010 Science Expo. To celebrate the success of the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup, the vuvuzela somehow also crept in.

Over the holiday period one gets to do a bit of travelling in South Africa and it is heart-breaking to see how litter seems to be piling up all around us. Half-empty bins are surrounded by an assortment of items which could so easily be thrown into the bin. Park lawns are dotted with heaps of take-away packets, pieces of cardboard and bottles. Intersections are characterised by lines of garbage careslessly thrown out of axi and car windows by drivers who pride themselves in their spotless vehicles. Pavements are decorated with papers, bottles and take-away packets left by pedestrians too lazy to walk to the nearest bin. Carparks are filled with mounds of cigarette butts emptied out of ashtrays. A walk along the Moreletta Stream reveals a similar picture. Floating debris is a testimony to something that took place upstream. Drains along suburban streets are filled with leftovers as passing vagrants eat their snacks and move off without taking their trash with them. South Africa will soon disappear under this ever-rising mound, leaving very little of beauty to locals, visitors or future generations to enjoy.

Are you bored and need easy access to free online games? I have made things easy for you by searching and grouping sites. Visit http://www.edugizelle.co.za/Games.htm for an extensive list. I will be adding sites from time to time. Once school starts, learners joining Computer Club will be able to get in and out of sites without having to spend hours searching. Enjoy!
